  1. It's true in the ways already mentioned...but also--sometimes when a rape case goes to court, some people will think that the girl who was raped was "asking for it" by flirting/leading the guy on, etc. Completely unfair, but it happens--I've heard of girls at college getting raped and then going to court, and they have to transfer because people harass her and call her a **** and think she's making it up. So sad.

  2. Depends on what role you played. Or if it was a false accusation that led to a counter strike back from the alleged Rapist. It's hurtful to be raped, because it distorts you and leave you confused and scarred. I hope whoever did it will rot in h**l if there's one, or die a nasty death. Have a nice one.

  3. The problem with rape is that it is difficult to prove, and where you cannot offer proof, people tend to assume you are lying or exaggerating.

With theft you have property, with murder you have a corpse... there is something tangible. Rape is merely your word against theirs in a society where you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Even with DNA evidence, it can often remain debatable whether you had consensual s*x or not.

Try arguing murder without a body, or theft where you cannot locate the property or money stolen. You will receive the same condescending treatment...
