I bought the phone a year ago and since then, it's been working fine! but now every time I talk to someone locally, I hear a static and I know it's coming from my phone. What does that means?

  1. Check it in another phone jack to rule out any problems in the line or connector where you plug it in.

If you still hear static on another line, the phone is the problem. It could be some wiring coming loose inside, but is more likely the headset speaker or mic element generating the noise.

We live in a world of throwaway electronics, unfortunately, so it would probably be a lot more expensive to repair it rather than replace it.
