  1. What you do is you have to have confidence, or in other words b4 u step in the box beleive that your going to hit the ball. To hit a ball coming that fast you have to swing earlier. Remember the harder the ball is thrown the farther it will go off of the bat. I know wat your saying im now in my 3rd year in a 90 foot base paths and ive seen 85-87 mph. so u just have to make contact and beleive.

  2. You and the other parents should go around and sign a petition to get him ejected from Little League. lol jk.

Im not sure if what you're saying is true.  I dont think it is possible for a kid in the little leagues to throw 85 mph.  SO im not sure if you're lying or what.

But to answer your question, try a lotta bunting.

EDIT: And it really seems like you're lying since you jsut said you saw his birth certificate.  What does this guy walk around with it in his pocket?  And then one day you asked, "hey can i see you Birth  Certificate?"

And also, do you know how hard it is for a 300 lb kid to throw 85?

  3. Swing a 300 pound bat in the on-deck circle and pray real hard!

Seriously, is there really a little league kid 6'3" and 300 lbs.?  If there really is then keep your eyes focussed on his release point.  Be ready to swing as soon as he releases the ball.  It helps to swing 2 bats in the on deck circle or a bat donut (weight).  Good luck.

  4. Sounds like this 'kid' has been pouring steroids over his Wheaties.

  5. You could either lift weights so the bat seems lighter when you swing the bat......or you could swing with a lot of weight on your bat when you are in the on deck circle.......and make sure you have the lightest bat possible that you are comfortable and enjoy swinging......and also i would get an end heavy bat and not a bat with the weight distributed throughout the bat.

  6. close ur eyes and swing as hard as u can

  7. Well a 12 year old kid at 6'3" 300 pounds throwing 85 mph on 12 year olds is absurd. Although if it is true then perhaps when you are up to bat try to work the count into your favor, if you use a stride perhaps try not to to focus on hitting the ball to the opposite field. And be confident and don't think about strikeout before you come up to bat.

  8. Do all the basics. Stand further back away from the mound, as far as you can but close enough obviously so you don't hit the catcher. Choke up, shorten up your swing, because even if its just a little quick cut, if you make contact it'll go further than you think because of the speed of the pitch. Don't try and drag swing by the way, that won't help you swing faster. That just helps you get down the line faster.

  9. How old is he?

  10. Hes a fatty. You should quit.

  11. Lol this sounds like bench warmers. I bet his birth certifico is in green crayon and has a 10 dollar bil in it. My advice go bench warmers on him. Get him drunk. Or if your serious. Do some bat work to make the bat seem lighter. Use a lighter bat and choke up. And you may have to swing pretty early and do a little guessing. But to be honest you probably wont hit it. A MLB probably wouldnt hit it.

A 95 MPH fastball from 60'2" you have .395 seconds to react

A 70 MPH softball from 43' you have bout .350 seconds to react.

So in little league your throwing 80 from bout 45'.. Thats probably close to a joel zumaya fastball.

  12. that kid is a monster if this is true.  If I were you, Id try to stand like Ichiro or watch him bat.  He kind of breaks towards first as he swings.  That could help you get around faster

  13. Well when he starts his windup you need to start your mechanics of your swing meaning gear up to hit it because it is coming fast.

  14. mix steroids in his gatorade and ask for a drug test.

  15. swing a weighted bat

  16. use math

  17. move to a different league, if he is only 12 and you are a normal 12 year old none of you stand a chance.
