I removed the front part of the gun looked at the outside of the gearbox and notice this little bit of red and I don't know what it is. Does it mean my gearbox is fried. My friend got a hold of my P90 and started dry firing it like crazy, he didn't know dry firing was bad, so I'm a little concerned if he did any damage to it.

  1. It's probably just a bit of silicon gel lubricant. Sometimes this is colored so that it's visually identifiable at the factory that the gearbox has been lubed. This could also be sealant between the gearbox halves. I've seen some guns with a lacquer type sealant between the gearbox halves, and others with none. Bottom line is, if the gun still works, I wouldn't think too much about it.
