hi!!

i am doing a debate and ill be saying that there should not be a minimum weight/bmi for models...ill be talking mostly about advertising and the media....any good points i can say? i need to talk for 4-5 mins so your help will be greatly appreciated

  1. 1- there's no maximum weight and if there was it would be looked at as discrimination. One could argue images of overweight people could encourage obesity, a current epidemic. It would be creating a double standard.

    2- Could curb the obesity epidemic (that's a stretch)

    3- Real cause of eating disorders related to parental intervention, not media images

    4- Some women are just naturally thin and should not be prevented from pursuing their chosen career path


  2. look into info on people with super high metabolisms.  I knew a girl who was scary skinny, but she ate just as much as I did, more than most girls.  

    good luck with the debate and expect to face against the min. weight staving off eating disorders/ building a better self image for girls/etc
