There was a car accident yesterday and no news coverage since.?

There was a pretty bad car accident yesterday around 2:30 PM on one of the back roads in my area. Two people died from their injuries later that day, and since then I have been able to find absolutely no coverage in any of the local papers or online. The two people killed weren't from this area. But the police and abulances were there. Why would it not be covered? Can they ask for it to be a private matter? It just doesn't make sence. =(
