The movie was  Frequency. I know you already have many correct answers, but I loved that movie. I liked the way it ended he was able to change history many times and each time he remembered all of the other different situations.

Most shows except for the outer Limits have the time travelers or the people who experienced  a changed in their life through some kind of time manipulation do not remember how it was before.
