Just today it was running around and i left the male cage open and it jumped inside and i shut it closed to trap it inside. it was rambling with the other male mice, should i be worried it might pass in disease to them. since it got inside up to now (4 hours ago), it has been jumpimg up to the cover of the cage to try to get out. I really want to kill it because it is soo wild, how is the best way to do that? p.s. not some nasty way, and careful to because it jumps up alot so when i open the cover it can escape. i was thinking about flushing it down the toilet but i was worried it might climb back up.

  1. Please do not kill the little guy.  It is acting so wild because it is scared and out of its element.

To begin you should never allow wild rodents to go into your pet cages.  Some rodents can carry quit a few different diseases that your pets immune system may never be able to cope with.  Once you have removed the wild one from the cage make sure you give the cage a good cleaning.  Check your pets for wounds.  If you find any keep a close eye on them for any signs of sickness.  If you are even a little worried they are acting strange take them to the vet right away.

As for disposing of the wild little guy.  Get him into a portable container.  Once he is in there take him as far away from your house as possible and release him back into the wild.  If you can do it in a wooded area it is even better.

  2. The wild mice may in fact, and most likely will fight till the other is dead not only that but it may have diseases as well that it can pass onto your pet mouse so definitely separate them. If it was me I would get a new cage for it and care for it making sure to wash my hands before and after touching it. Or you can simply bring him out side to a park or field and let him go, maybe he will die but maybe he will live there making burrows happily. Murdering a helpless animal is never the best thing to do, your real decision is whether to keep it or let it loose outside.

  3. If it's wild just open the door and let it back outside; no need to kill the poor thing!

  4. I agree let it outside don't kill it!!!
