  1. so what happens if they all fell [jumps or flat] apart from the fav somehow i think you would have lost i dont think there is such thing as a race you cant loose in so what was the race then ?

  2. Well I am sure you would not have lost if you had had 10ew on every horse, including the fav, in Foinavon's (100-1) Grand National and plenty other races besides. For instance Hittite Glory won The Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster at 100-1 and there were only about 8 runners.

The most peculiar betting race one will ever encounter was last year's Arc where you could have bet every horse except Deep Impact on the PMU and still backed Deep Impact at the trade price with your local bookie, to have a guaranteed win.

However your statement is never true pre race in a single market so apart from the above instance it is just a daft question.

  3. I don't know, but if the favourite won..... you would lose!

  4. you have foxed me

  5. There was a race about 4 or 5 years ago, was at a small meeting in Britain with a longs odds on shot, 8or9 runners and rest were all like 33/1+, worked in a bookies at time and no one realised you couldn't lose at time but it had a big write up in racing post the following day. (the fav did win)
