  1. Really strange things are happening. Better check you attic.

  2. No a raccoon or fox wont kill the deer, now a coyote or wolf, maybe a wandering dog will...

Im sure the mother is not far.

Adult deers kill more people every year then any other animal, why?? because they jump high and can kick hard!

I have never heard of a raccoon or fox hunting a baby deer, their natural prey is small game-toads, frogs, mice, bugs, rabbit, crawfish,  if the deer is dead then yes it they will eat it.

    WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEER???????

    ?

  3. DON'T TOUCH IT the mother left it there for safe keeping and she will return for it DON'T TOUCH IT OR SHE WILL ABANDON IT POSSIBLY

  4. Leave it there for awhile, to give the mother a chance to come back, if it doesn't come back then you will want to take it in, and you will have to bottle feed it. Newborns can't go very long without milk so dont leave it there to much longer, if the mother doesn't come back soon she probably isn't going to. 5. yes she is a new born..and the mother just left it there because the mother is looking for food to feed her new born baby...better don't touch it.. the mother might get mad...

  6. Leave the fawn alone.  The mother should come and get her tonight.

If the fawn is still there in the morning, then call your local humane society, and inform them just how long the fawn has been there, with no return of the mother.

I am currious though.  You say you saw her try to stand.  A fawn shouldn't be trying to stand with its mother not around.  It should be laying there, "frozen" to the ground.

Did the mother clean the birth sack off the fawn?  If she didn't clean the fawn off, then she probably laid down, had the fawn, and abandonded it.  The mother should always clean it up, before she leaves.

If a raccon, or fox found her in the middle of the night, yes, they would kill and eat her.  As cruel as that seems though, that is the way of nature.  Both the raccoon, and the fox would have young of their own to feed this time of year.
