Try to find out an interesting way to talk to her. You could show her something that might interest her, and ask her what her name is that way! make a move!! sounds like you are more nervous!

Go up and ask her opinion on something in the news. Easy opener and usually leads to a great stimulating conversation. Make sure its an interesting subject (I saw one on Yahoo that scientists found a husband gene!) and stay away from politics and religion. Give her your opinion on it, THEN ask for hers...

If she's in your class, sit next to her and deliver this.
