So theres been a lot of torandos going very close around my area for the past few days. Ive been thinking more and more, where am I going to take cover? My bathroom is litterally right next to the furnace room, and in the hallway, theres only two doors, and it would be a wind funnel and blow me and my son right out, for sure.

Would it be safe to be right next to the furnace room? Is it going to blow up for a second, as the tornado hits it?

  1. well, how often is the furnace on and HOT when it is tornado weather - not often??

Plus with all the plumbing - hopefully some metal pipes go into the ground?

Still the strongest room in the house probably...  What is going to blow??  oil, gas?  no -most likely not...  things don't "blow up" as in explode because of a tornado... they may get "blown apart" by the wind... but not the flame and death kinda blow up you are talking about... :)

Good luck - chances are 1 in a few hundred million it won't hit your house :)

You don't have any good ditches around your house do you??

  2. Does anyone else prefer winter to the summer.?
