It would depend on the size of the paw print. How long have you lived there? Raccoon and opossum have about a inch size paw print. Could be red squirrel , flying squirrel or even a pet from a previous homeowner . Hamster.etc. Your question needs to be more precise.

what the other people said...altho I would guess that a chipmunk may be the suspect...would never have thought so until the other day...thought we had a mouse problem until I opened the closet and found a chipmunk happily nibbling on a sunflower seed.
