There’s something wrong with the Fernando Torres move: Robbie Fowler
Liverpool’s legendary striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707’s move to Premier League Champions Chelsea. The deal, which was worth around 50 Million Pounds, was finalized on the final day of the winter transfer window and Fowler condemned Torres
for breaking the hearts of thousands of Liverpool fans.
The 35-year-old, who currently plays for Perth Glory in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746, took part in a charity campaign to raise funds for the Queensland flood affectees. The entire lot of Perth players were required to wear a “Shirt that Hurt” for the occasion and Fowler made
his way to the event wearing a Fernando Torres Liverpool shirt worn backwards.
The name of the player was on the front and Fowler explained, "There is nothing wrong with the front of the shirt but it's just the name on the back. With what's happened this week, it's a shirt that not only myself but many Liverpool fans would rather not
wear just yet,”
The 35-year-old added that Torres left the club not in the best of forms or with the best of feelings, but was happy that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 managed to bring in some quality players from his transfer funds. Fowler stated that the last moment transfer of Torres doesn’t
seem right and there was something more to the transfer.
"As a Liverpool fan it was disappointing to see Torres leave because on his day he's a world-class player and I want the best players at the club,” added the Perth player.
However, once Torres submitted the transfer request, Liverpool should’ve milked http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 after the blues approached them for the player, and that is exactly what the Reds did. Torres' transfer was a win-win situation for the Reds as they managed to acquire
services of two very promising players in Luis Suarez and Andy Carrol. Given the recent stats of both the players, Liverpool fans wouldn't feel they have 'lost' the gamble.
What puts the icing on the cake is the fact that it was none other than Liverpool's new signing, Luis Suarez, who scored a goal for them in their 2-0 victory over Stoke City. It was Suarez's debut for the club, and his 'dream debut' might just wash away
all the 'blues' for good.
