Theres this building down the road from me and its really secure?

Theres a building down the road from me and its really secure, Theres locked gates, with barbed wire along the top of the gates and the wall surrounding it, and theres cctv actually in the front ground of it, and when the burglar alarm or fire alarm goes off, the police and firebrigade are there within 2 minutes.

What could it be?, and during the day theres a load of virgin media vans goin in and out of it.

So what could it be?, Could it be like the telephone exchange?, but if it was there would be bt vans aswell going in and out.

I'd guess a telephone exchange.

Virgin broadband would need access to the exchange to set up your broadband before coming to your home to install it there.

They are also a strategic objective for terroists if they wanted to cause chaos, put a telephone exchange out of action.

It sounds like a switch house or excxhange

Is there also a cell tower near?  Often times there are.

It could be just what you suspect, there are a lot of good answers here, one would be to use googleearth and see if you can get closer images, or street google to see the front.

What's the address?

You could google just the psychial address and see what is listed at that address.. That is the BEST suggestion that is already on here.
