  1. its a catnip tree i have one in my backyard i thought the same thing....=]

  2. Well, you could cut a piece of it off and take it to the Police Station and ask them.

  3. Check out www.scribd.com  Under marijuana hand book.  there are several chapters regarding marijuana flowering.

  4. Could be you people don't know what marajuana looks like?

Might very well be a Abution species/cultivar.  They have larginsh yellow flowers and palmate leaves.  Called a flowering maple, but not related to maples much.

Or maybe its a male pot plant. sometimes the flowers do look abit yellow, but are tiny (1/8th inch).

  5. there is only one plant which resembles the marijuana plant almost perfectly, and that plant is (common name-sergeant roger), it can be hard to destinguish the differences.  all the other examples you were given are similar but the description you gave was a perfect match for sergeant roger.

  6. the plant most commonly mistaken with marijuana has got to be a species of Acer, or Maple.  Possibly a Japanese Maple, but a flower bud is odd...are you sure it's a flower?  Do you have a picture?

  7. It's probably a type of cannibas, just not marijuana.  There are several types of cannibas plants. (Marijuana is cannibas).

  8. A number of plants resemble Cannabis species,  that is if it's not a Cannabis plant.  Some bird seed mixes contain Hemp,  a type of Cannabis, and the seeds may be blown etc.

Otherwise,  the closest resemblances to your description come from a type of legume - Cinquefoil,  which grows wild in the USA,  and has flowers similar to the type you mention http://www.altnature.com/gallery/Cinquef... - this has yellow flowers.  It may also be sulfur Cinquefoil- http://www.ppws.vt.edu/scott/weed_id/ptl... .  http://www.2bnthewild.com/plants/H153.ht... . The texan Hibiscus, referred to elsewhere.  There's also Vitex negundo, see here:  http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h... - not a close match to your description though.

Plus Ambrosia trifida,  whose leaves resemble Cannabis (not your plant's flowers though) - http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symb...

See if it has hairs on its stem, as this suggests cinquefoil.

Hope this helps.  Good luck!  Rob

  9. I have a hibiscus plant called a Texas Star, but the flower is red instead of yellow...there may be a yellow flower member of the family

here are some pics I found on the web

  10. If it's identical to a marijuana plant, what makes you so sure it isn't?  There are some plants that look very similar, though.  The Schefflera looks similar.

  11. Does this Cleome lutea (yellow spiderflower) look like your plant?

  12. lol, that's pretty funny... try lighting it on fire or something.
