the cat at the pet store costs about 300 dollars, or maybe 400.

the stray cat is free and just as cute, but the pet store cat has had all its shots and is healthy. i would have to pay for the cats shots and get the vet checkups for it. so which one would be cheaper?

1) getting the pet store cat

2) taking the stray and paying for its shots and everything ?

  1. The stray cat.

  2. Get the stray cat. It will the cat will be free, then only thing you need to pay are the shots. Plus you will not find a cute cat in a pet store.Plus think about it, a poor cat living outside, imagine during the winter.

  3. Take the stray cat.  Shots would be less than buying a cat.  Plus i have learned, when you take in a stray, specially a young one, u feed him love him, he will be so appreciative, he will luv you for life.  You can take to vet for shots, But a must is get fixed at 6 months old.

  4. Don't waste your money on a pet store cat. I would get the kitten inside after it is weened from its mother. Call the spca and get the momma cat picked up, they will spay her and find her a home. For a kitty, one that is that small is the best time to have it. you can teach it to fetch (don't laugh my mom's cat does and we got her at 4 weeks old) and simple commands. You will have to get it to a vet soon after it is inside, they will get her checked out and shots for around $100.00 The vet will also run simple tests like heart worms and leukemia and if the cat has any of that you can opt not to get it vaccinated and you can surrender this animal at that time.  If you do decide to get a pet store cat, please call the spca and get those cats picked up.

  5. Taking the stray is definitely cheaper! Everything that you will have to do (shots, worming and even getting it fixed) will cost less money than the cat at the pet store, I promise, because they are not only charging you for the shots, but they need to make a profit. Look at it this way, there are many homeless cats/kittens in the world and you are saving one. Do it and be very proud that you have helped!

  6. I would recommend the stray. Every cat that I've ever had has been a stray or a castoff. And I have never regretted it.

  7. Take the stray cat..... You do not know the hero you will be for doing it!!! The life that stray cats have are terrible!!!!

About a month ago I had a mother cat and four kittens turn up on my front porch! I could not take them in or find anyone to take them ( That includes shelters that are non kill ) They were all very cute I loved them to death! I fed them and made them a home on my porch that was protected from storms and heat! However the kittens and momma cat decided to go run around and play in the neighborhood still!

Now all 4 kittens have died! The Momma cat is the only one left!!! She is so lonely.  I am trying to find a way to get her to a vet or animal shelter for shots because I want to keep her... She is such a lovely cat!

Every time I see her though she is looking for all of her kittens, she doesn't understand what happened to them she looks so lost and lonely! PLEASE HELP THAT STRAY CAT!!!!!

You will feel great about it in the end!

You get a pet and companion and save a life! What is better than that!

  8. http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/Taming-Fera...

this link is about taming stray cats

first of all its NOT YOURS to take and keep

first phone the shelter and report finding it

second NEVER NEVER buy from a pet store - you pay too much and support the cruel industry of mass breeding of animals

third - a "free" cat is NEVER free - it might be sick... have worms..

finally - if you want a cat/kitten - go to your local shelter and ADOPT ONE, you will truely be saving a life that way..

take the stray to the shelter incase it has an owner looking for it.. and see about adopting an adult cat.. its the adults who are usually put down.. call the shelter first that you found a kitten

  9. Iwould take the stray most of my cats have been  strays they all make good pets .Just make sure you get the cat  vet checked.

  10. If you save a kitten who needs to be saved, it will be a much better pet. It will be more loving since you saved it, and it's just happy to be in a warm place with a person who feeds it regulary and pets it. So save the kitten, so you know it won't get hurt. And I don't think you wuold pay that much to get its shots and check up, if you go to a kind of cheap vet.

I have saved two kittens, Tiny (shes probably 5 now) and Sass (shes 3), and Tiny had a liter of kittens, we kept two from her litters, and we kept one from Precious's (tinys daughter) liter, so 3 cats from birth and two saved one, honsetly they saved ones were much sweeter, the non saved ones are kind of brats sometimes lol especially precious lol

  11. The stray would be less expensive. Take the cat to your local animal shelter and they will vaccinate him/her and spay/neuter for much less than a vet would. Maybe even for free if you tell them it's a stray.

  12. Never buy a cat at a pet store.

Take the stray in - do research ahead of time and find out what vets and clinics will charge to do a neuter and vaccination series.

And if the stray is freaked out for a while, be patient.  It is a HUGE change for them but you will be giving them a much better life.  (assuming they're not feral)

  13. Get the stray and save its life!  The cats in the store have a better chance of survival, if you take the stray you will save its life!
