Therese Alshammar and Roland win individual titles in Rome: Sette Colli Trophy 2011
Day three of the Sette Colli Trophy 2011 got off to a stunning start with the impressive swims of several swimmers such as Therese Alshammar, Roland Schoeman, Gregorio Paltrinieri, Christian Von Lehm and Filippo Magnini in Rome, Italy, on June 19.
In the beginning, Therese Alshammar claimed the Women’s 50m butterfly crown with a record time of 25.37 seconds and beat her previous time of 25.38 seconds with a close margin of 0.01 seconds.
Winning silver medal in the corresponding race was Jeanette Ottesen with a time of 25.69 seconds for her 4th
spot, while Fran Halsall captured bronze in 25.86 seconds for her 6th position in the world rankings. Placed fourth in the race was Ranomi Kromowidjojo with a time of 26.16 seconds and Veldhuis wound up fifth in 26.38 seconds.
Meanwhile, Roland Schoeman won the Men’s 50m butterfly crown with a winning time of 23.60 seconds. Munoz settled for silver with a time of 23.66 seconds for his 9th spot, while Cavic earned third place honours in 23.68 seconds for his 12th
position in the international rankings.
In another exiting race, Gregorio Paltrinieri snatched the Men’s 1500m freestyle title with a convincing time of 15 minutes and 04.90 seconds for his 7th
position. Meanwhile, Rocco Potenza claimed silver with a time of 15 minutes and 06.13 seconds for his 9th spot and Federico Colbertaldo grabbed bronze in 15 minutes and 11.10 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m breast-stroke final, Christian Von Lehm snagged the golden crown with a victorious time of 2 minutes and 13.12 seconds, while Edoardo Giorgetti earned silver with a time of 2 minutes and 13.18 seconds. Marco Koch finished for bronze medal
in a time of 2 minutes and 13.26 seconds.
Finally, Filippo Magnini clinched his first gold in the Men’s 100m freestyle final with a time of 49.27 seconds. Winning silver in the respective race was Sebastiaan Verschuren with a time of 49.35 seconds, while Markus Deibler secured bronze in a time of
49.36 seconds.
Additionally, David Verraszto won the Men’s 200 Individual Medley title with a time of 2 minutes and 00.31 seconds.
