Therese Alshammar dominates at the Sette Colli Trophy 2011
Five swimmers squeezed through the 2011 Sette Colli Trophy meet on account of their impressive swims in Rome, Italy. Initially, Therese Alshammar popped up in the Women’s 50m butterfly event with her fastest time of 25.37 seconds. More importantly, she broke
her previous record of 25.38 seconds set in Mare Nostrum, this month.
Placed second in the corresponding race was Jeanette Ottesen with a time of 25.69 seconds for her 4th
spot, whereas, Fran Halsall finished third in a time of 25.86 seconds for her 6th position in the world rankings.
In the second exciting event, Federica Pellegrini took home the Women’s 200m freestyle crown with a victorious time of 1 minute and 56.85 seconds. Nabbing silver in the respective meet was Zsuzsanna Jakabos with a time of 1 minute and 57.68 seconds and Joanne
Jackson wound up third in a time of 1 minute and 58.06 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m breast-stroke finale, Christian Von Lehm won the gold medal with a winning time of 2 minutes and 13.12 seconds, while Edoardo Giorgetti wound up second in 2 minutes and 13.18 seconds. Marco Koch settled for bronze medal in a time of 2 minutes
and 13.26 seconds. Placed fourth in the following meet was Akos Molnar with a time of 2 minutes and 13.73 seconds, while Giedrus Titenis finished fourth in 2 minutes and 13.84 seconds.
In another exciting event, Filippo Magnini nabbed the Men’s 100m freestyle crown with a fastest time of 49.27 seconds. Retaining second spot in the respective race was Sebastiaan Verschuren with a time of 49.35 seconds, while Markus Deibler rounded out the
top three in 49.36 seconds.
Earlier, Deibler hit the wall in 49.33 seconds to win the Men’s 100m freestyle preliminary event. In the Men’s 200m Individual Medley finale, David Verraszto took home the golden crown with a winning time of 2 minutes and 00.31 seconds and moved into the
top spot in the world rankings.
Grabbing silver in the corresponding meet was Joe Roebuck with a time of 2 minutes and 01.69 seconds, while Jan-David Schepers snagged bronze in 2 minutes and 01.76 seconds. Finally, Gregorio Paltrinieri took home the Men’s 1500m freestyle crown with a record
time of 15 minutes and 04.90 seconds for his 7th spot and Rocco Potenza captured silver title with a time of 15 minutes and 06.13 seconds for his 9th position in the world rankings.
