Therese Walsh to head Cricket New Zealand in the 2015 World Cup - Cricket News Update
Former Executive and Operating Officer for Rugby New Zealand, Therese Walsh, has been appointed as one of the directors of New Zealand Cricket for the 2015 World Cup. Walsh’s appointment was confirmed at the 117th Annual General meeting of New
Zealand cricket, which was held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864. Don Mackinnon is also one of the appointments, alongside President of the NZC, Denis Currie, who has been reappointed.
The 40-year-old Walsh was previously a chartered accountant by profession and became the Chief financial officer of the New Zealand Rugby Union in 2011. She was one of the main board members who worked on New Zealand’s bid to host the Rugby World Cup in
2011 and became the chief financial officer after five years with the NZRU.
“This was a perfect chance to be a part of another global sporting event that is going to have a direct and positive impact not only on cricket in New Zealand but on communities, businesses and individuals.”
She also reiterated her commitment to leadership and philosophy to work as a team. She expressed her excitement over the 2015 edition of the World Cup, which will take place in Australia and New Zealand

Walsh has also had a strong interest in the international sector and has served in ventures such as Save the Children, for many years. She had been recently appointed as the Chairman of the Sustainable Fund Selection Panel.

to be the key challenge for the NZC.
The 2015 Cricket World Cup will be the 11th edition of the tournament since the inaugural event was held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 1975. Co-hosts, Australia, have won the tournament four times.
