Question:

Thermal Couplers/Thermocouple??

I have some experience with these, but have two propane heaters. One will provide a small flame, but will not stay on, the second will not provide a flame. I am getting ignition on both.

I cleaned the entry point connections and still no luck; any suggestions?

Thanks

  1. What type of ignition?, and or safety switch, you need to generate enough mil-volts to hold the mag-switch-which holds the gas valve open. Be very careful with propane as it has high expansion rate and is heavier than air-for instance you could be sitting in fumes and not get a whiff until it's to late then you will be the ignition.

Sounds like you have some old space heaters on hand,  if so, you probably can inter change parts from a propane fired Bar-B-Q. Those parts are pretty common and found any where they sell hard-Ware.

    Good Luck

  2. Check your propane pressure first sounds like you may be running out.Second some ignightors act as a flame prooving device where they light the flame and tell the computer that it's verified ignition before opening the gas valve and some older units have ignightors and a standing pilot with thermocouple.I would need more info to really tell you what's going on so post another ? and provide more detail please
