What is the change in the thermal energy of the slide and the seat of her pants? In joules

    G.P.E = K.E + ∆Q

    mgh = ½mV² + ∆Q

    (17)(9.81)(2.9) = ½(17)(2.1)² + ∆Q

    ∆Q = 446.148 J ≈ 450 J
