Thermalright xp--120 on prescott 2.8 @ 3.5

I am running a prescott lga775 2.8 on an asus p5gdc-v.  Running nicely sofar at 3.5 after bumping the voltage a bit to both ram and core.  This thing is very noisey under load.  The stock intel cooler winds up like a vacuum cleaner when the temp climbs above idle (50c).   Has anyone got experience with aftermarket coolers to fit this sort of setup? the thermalright xp-120 looks good, watercooling is beginning to look like a good option too. TTYL, James.
