Urea dissolves very readily in water, but the solution becomes very cold as the urea dissolves.? why is this happening. is the solution obsorbing energy. plz help explain thnx

  1. the urea is absorbing heat in order to dissolve

    if dissolving urea is an endothermic process , & we don't supply the heat, it will take it away from the surrounding water, (the water loses heat )

    it is like evaporating water, it will take heat away from you in order to evaporate, when you hold your wet hand out in the wind.

    it takes, you lose energy
