I don't know about that I've rather enjoyed watching them.

I'm also sick of people saying that it's all the Americans fault because I can't think of a time when America has showed bad sportsmanship.  And the athletes themselves are not whining or making excuses, it just some people from America. And the opinions expressed by some Americans cannot define the whole country.

Only because it is not hosted in America. It wasn't a disaster but only a minor and ordinary accident when the Centennial Olympic Park booming happened during Atalanta Olympics. Security shouldn't be tightened as terrorists will willingly unveil themselves during the Beijing games.

Should ever countries like China be granted hosting rights again when they run their country by our rules.

Somehow I think the victims of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing won't see it that way. Maybe the surviving members of the Israeli athletes killed by terrorists in Munich are glad to see the Athletes kept so safe from harm.

no. it is not a disaster you describe. The US media is not objective at all. What they try to do is bashing the host nation. Nothing is positive.. too extreme.  Sad.

Ok yeah the US is really ruining it, when it was a Chinese man who stabbed tourists. And it's really the US ruining it when international judges unfairly judge everyone in gymnastics. And it's really the US fault when the Spainish basketball team takes it upon themselves to take a picture of themselves making asian eyes. Oh yea the US is really to blame. It's people who are cowards and just want to make the world worse who are to blame. And it's people like you who have to blame it on one entity like the US. It's not just one country complaining people. All over the world countries are complaining about the unfair turnabout in these Olympics. But of course you won't hear about it.

This of course is directed on the people who tend to blame people due to the fact a country complains. I'm sure if you were in the olympics and were in this siutation you would feel the same way. And all the thumbs down must mean I'm right because I knew you wouldn't agree with facts.

Yep they should just change the rule so every Olympic can only be held in the US where it's safe and fair.  Also every chinese athlete must provide convincing proof of their age and not just a fake passport bought from the local black market.

totally agree with you.I cannot say about Olympics but opening ceremony which was being regarded as succesful is biggest flop in history of Olympics.

1.You know about the girl which sang "Ode to motherland" was fake.Because of China,that girl will have to suffer the agony of Chinese as being rejected.Whenever her marriage will happen,the boy's family will say that is she the same girl who was rejected by Chinese government in Olympics for not being pretty ?She might be smiling but her parents will feel agony of it.

2.The children whic was being said that they represent 56 dynasties Of China were from only one dynasty - Han dynasty who ruled China for centuries.Such difference of caste and race can happen only in Communist China.

3.The people who were presented for attending olympics,most of them were volunteers paid by Chinese for attending it.

4.Fireworks was totally digital only for TV audiences all over the world.the people who attented Olympics say they didn't see any fireworks.

5.The Chinese girls who were being send to represent all countries in start had to strip naked in front of male officials so that all girls have same body.What A Shame!!!!!!

6.The potrait of China which was being showed to world throgh a big mat were being supported by 900 soldiers without clothes only being in diapers for 10 long hours.

Olympics is being regarded as games for peace and humanity but such human violations happen then what the h**l is use of Olympics ?

Other countries might have doped or cheated but they doesn't do difference to their people as China does.

In sports,China is big winner and I congratualte them but in humanity,they are big losers.

Complaints of unfair judging in gymnastics

Spain's stupidity in photos

Shoulder biting in Boxing (Can we say Mike Tyson?)

The Good:

Georgia and Russian Citizens embracing one another

Good Sportsmanship by USA Gymnasts (even with  what a lot feel was bad judging)

Good Sportsmanship shown by most (not all but most) athletes

North Korea and South Korea teams being courteous to each other

World and Olympic records being broken left and right

Countries who have never won medals are winning their first ones

There are 10,000 competitors representing 205 nations (originally only 14 nations competed)

Feel Good Stories: Darrah Torres, Phelps, and Eric Shanteau

There are only 6 country's (China, USA, Great Britain, Russia, Australia & Germany) that have more gold medals that Michael Phelps in this Olympics.  There are two countries currently tied with Phelps each having 8 gold medals (South Korea & Japan) How cool is that??

So yes, while I think there are some disasters (most of all the loss of a life) in these Olympics, I still believe there has been some great things happening too.

Why can't we enjoy the best of it? Let's use this years "faults" to make 2012 even better!
