These birds are driving me BONKERS!!!?

For the past few months, we've heard fluttering and chirping in our chimney. Within the past month, these birds have obviously had more little birdies, and the "chirping" has become horrible loud "out of sync" screetching! Even as I type this, it's sooo loud.

My question to anyone who may know, is... are these birds going to eventually leave? and if they do, will they come back next year? I have NO clue what kind of birds they are. And DONT make comments about turning on the fire.. (ive thought of it 'who wouldnt' but I really dont want dead rotting stinking birds in my chimney that I can't get to)

It was cute and all at first, now i just want them gone...

  1. call the amimal control

  2. Try playing loud noise up into the chimney to drive them out. If that doesn't work, call animal control. When they leave, put a piece of screen over the top of the chimney to keep them out.

  3. If there are chicks in there then it should not be long before they leave the nest. The louder they are means the bigger they are.   Once gone..make sure and block off the access to the chimney so they cannot nest there again.  Also, keep in mind it is illegal to destroy this nest as some are suggesting..all native wild birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.  Just be patient a little longer and wait for them to leave.

  4. They are Chimney Swifts. You can call a local wildlife trapper or a chimney professional to get rid of them..preferably someone who will not harm them. Then you will need to have someone block the entrance so they do not come back.

  5. like they said get someone to extract them safely but afterwards put like a wire mesh or something around the chimney vent so only bugs can get in. and if u did turn the fire on there wouldnt b rotting birds in there. there would be barbeque waiting for the sauce. haha
