in a shop/bank,street etc

why do they walk away and report it 2 days later?

why not grab her, tell the shop to phone police, hold onto her, and let police sort it out,

i wished i saw her, in a shop, i know what i would do.

You're right.. I guess there are just too many people worried about their own rights today.  I mean, yes, people would look at them strangely, and if they were wrong... BUT - At least CALL right away!

Case In point:  I think I know what little Caylee Anthony looks like from memory now.. and I KNOW I'd recognize her in a heartbeat, so in a way that's different.. If people are almost sure, take the risk.  Or Run to the nearest phone!  Look at the people she's with.. follow them, something..

P.S. - There's a Special tonight on t.v. (CBS) re: Little Maddie and the case - on '48 Hours' I just heard.

If I saw Maddie, i'd call the number and stay with her, or around her, until officials arrive. I wouldn't let her out of my sight but I would not grab her.

Grabbing her is not a good idea and is assault. If you grab her, loads of people would be gathering round anyway, shouting abuse at you, calling you an abductor, a paedophile, and the police will likely be coming after you instead of caring for Maddie.

I know that Maddie is missing and millions of people look out for her, but if you grab her and the police arrive and the girl turns out not to be Maddie, you could end up in prison because you can't just grab people for no reason.

Also if you grab them you are making a scene and the alleged 'abductor' of Maddie will have chance to run before the cops even arrive. Why let the abductor get away with it when you can catch both of them at once?

some people did not realise at the time what was going on as it was only within hours of maddie being taken. i wish ihad the chance to see her. i would not let her go, she may look different by now. but her eye will always be there.

I think some of these people are just after their 15 minutes of fame, sadly at the expensive of a ( neglected ) child who would probably like nothing more than be home safe & sound with her siblings!

I'm sure any 'caring' parent would not mind being checked out in the slightest if her child resembled Maddie. I know if I 'saw' her I would make a big noise. if I was proved wrong then so be it, but if I was right - well that goes without saying. these people just want their 15 mins of fame at poor Maddies expence
