These things that look like pepper/strawberry seeds are scattered throughout my storage closet & surroundings

When moving into my new apt. unit I noticed there were these particles inside my storage unit, that looked like dried strawberry seeds; or better, yet like I took a pepper shaker and shook it all over the place. It is abundant in the corners of the storage inside and the shelving of the storage. In addition we have one of those old air condition units (that protrudes from the wall), and I noticed these particles are there as well.

Can anybody in the pest control field tell me if I'm dealing with some sort of critter? Many thanks...

  1. Could be a critter or it could be poison from an exterminator.

  2. That definitely sounds like mouse p**p.  They can be quite small!  Try setting a Havahart trap (they look like this: http://www.professionalequipment.com/pro... and bait it with peanut butter.  Then bring any mice several miles away.

They could also potentially be insect (such as roach) droppings.  Know any entomologists you can ask?
