  1. The cruise line will not put you or their multimillion $$ ships in any danger. They will alter the course of your cruise to another port or just make Key West day a 'Day at Sea'  Enjoy and don't worry. Read our blog about cruising in Hurricane season.

  2. The cruise will most likely leave Miami without a problem, and then if the tropical storm is still headed for Key West, you will not go there. You will either go to a different port, or you may not. They have to find a port within a certain distance and if there is a spot available to be docked, then you will go there. If you do not end up going to another port, they will give you onboard credit.  The cruise lines have excellent technology to detect exact where the storm is headed, they're excellent at avoiding a storm, if that's what you're worried about. I've been in this exact same situation, and this is what the captain told us.

Hope this helps and good luck!!! (:

  3. Hey, when you get back, let me know what happened to your itinerary.. cuz my ship leaves on thursday and the storm (the clouds and rain at least) will still be here. thanx!

  4. Generally they will change course and make stops on an alternate itinerary. You may find you like the alternate stops better!

Generally they will head for the Virgin Islands if the Keys are threatened, but since the VI's took a pretty bad beating from the storm who knows?

  5. The ships are very good at avoiding storms.  You may, indeed, miss a scheduled port of call due to having to change course for a storm, so you should have in mind some "alternatives".

  6. They will change course. It's not supposed to hit Miami anyway but come up the Gulf side of Florida.....right over my house
