They Call America a free Country but why does it cost so Much to Live?

I'm sure almost everyone is struggling like me right now. I'm trying to find an my first apartment with my fiance but I am having such a hard time because money is so tight and with prices to live i barely have any cash to save up. I am so frustrated does anyone have any helpful tips for me? I need help! We are both in college and we have to get out of our houses he lives with his mom and I live with mine. His mom is a bit** and mine is moving to Conneticut. This is horrible. I dont know what to do! Help someone please!

I don't see that any of these answers are helpful to you. And moving to the South will do you no good, as it will be the same as living anywhere else. I know, I live in the South East. Jobs right now are scarce, but I would recommend what my fiance and I did. We both had jobs while we were in college. You say you are still in college-are you living in the dorms? This should help to save money, at least for awhile. We had enough saved for deposit and first month's rent. While we were still in college, we were looking for full time jobs. Never ever get a place unless you know you will have at least some money to pay for it. Other than that, we pretty much stay home and try to do things on the weekends that don't cost a lot: hang out with friends, rent a movie, go to the park, walk around the mall, go to the mountains, beach, find unique things to do that are going on in your town.Just because you don't have a lot of money, doesn't mean you have to stay locked up in a closet. Also, good advice is to wait and try to live with friends while saving money. It's something I had to do. My fiance lived with his mother and I stayed with a friend of mine for a few months. This helped us save. This is not the only way to do this, but these are some ideas.

you can find a place look for it and if you want one bedroom and then you have coupons to save and there is coupons for gas and stuff you can save and be meager. that is how one does it.

You're "free" to do whatever you like as long as you have the means to do it (have the money, can afford it, etc.). Besides that, look up Social Darwinism, and you'll see why it costs so much to live.

Well, you could try staying with friends until you save up enough money to buy a cheap place on your own.

Well it costs a lot to live here nowadays because our economy is in the beginning stages of a recession.

You could try to get HOC

Or find another relative you could live with

Or rent out a basement or another room with a roommate. You can usually find them in a newspaper ad or online.
