i don't know what to do, on my bus this morning a girl spotted them and told her friend [who is the biggest loud mouthed gossiper ive known] i heard them talking about it, i know they knew i heard them talking about it. ive been treating them for about a month now, and none of the stuff seems to be working, infact all its doing is making my hair greasey and makeing it smell like lice treatment. i think there going to spread and i know it wont take lone before it gets to all my friends. this weekend i know im going to worry the whole time. and monday is my birthday, (when we go bck to school)! the last thing i want is being bullied on my birthday. The girl i sit next to on the bus is my friend and i know she heard them saying it, i have a feeling she will hate me now, and no ones going to want to sit with me. im so worried ... this weekend im going to non stop rermove the nits but how do i ? nothings working. and i certainly dont want to be bullied for the 4 years left of my school life

  1. If you have lice it will spread and fast. As a matter of fact you should not even be in school!!! I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. It is really your parents fault! You need to follow the directions on the treatment box to a tee! You need to wash ALL of you clothes and bedding in hot water. Get the RID spray for your couches and mattress. You need to BOIL your brushes, combs and any other hair items in your house. Your entire house hold needs to do this also! Your family can also have lice (and probably does!!) which is why you can not get rid of them. Get your parents to help you. They have to! Its their job!

If you can't get rid of them get your school nurse or family doctor involved. They will help! Do NOT NOT NOT go to a salon!

  2. Use a prescription lice treatment (your doctor will call one in) and have your mother go through your hair and pick every single nit out with her fingernails and a nit pick. Bag up all coats used recently, stuffed animals etc. Throw all bedding in the wash on HOT water and dry on the highest heat setting. Wipe down everything else with hot water. Put your backpack in a trash bag for 2 weeks sealed tight.

They should all be gone from your head after the treatment and after your mom picks EVERY SINGLE nit out.

Throw out brushes and buy new. Put irons in bags, too for 2 weeks.

  3. put lots of conditioner in your hair and then section by section use a fine comb to get them out, you can get one in a chemist, ..

dont you have a mam or sister that will help you ..xx

  4. It does not work if you only treat your hair.  You need to talk to your parents and possibly treat your clothes, your pillow, hair brush, combs, etc.  Those items can get you re-infected and the problem would never go away.  It takes 3-4 treatments, if you are doing it the right way.

  5. My sister in law's kids had them & the only way she could get rid of them & keep them away is to get those metal combes from the drug store & comb out the girls hair everyday. She did all the shampoos 7 stuff & that didn't help she just ended up with them again but she hasn't had a problem in over a year & she still keeps those combs handy & combs through like every other day so if they do show up again she can take care of it before it gets bad.

  6. Lice want stay in a clean head. You have to get every net out of your hair. You need someone to help you remove them it's to hard and almost impossible to do by yourself. Lots of luck.

  7. you have to change your sheets and linen and comb realy good.there are some home remedies but i cant think of any at the moment maybe you could ask in the health section on here what home remedies work

  8. I would go to the doctor. I'm actually surprised you're alowed to go to school, when I got nits my school didn't alow me back till they where out and sent a letter home telling parents a student had then and to check their kids hair

  9. the solution you have been using will kill the live bugs but wont remove the nits, you can try to use vinegar mixed in with mayonaise for a strong lubricating killer and nit remover, put it on and slip on a shower cap for 2 hours and rinse then do the conditioner(lots) let it sit for 5 minutes and comb it out in the shower, rinse andblow dry your hair, if the next day its still there repeat. it shouldnt take more than 2 tries. You may have to treat carpets and bedding clothes and towels as well .

  10. put loads of conditioner on your hair and use a nit comb, you will see the nits in the white conditioner !

  11. We had this problem too. We treated with the lice shampoos, but they didn't work. Get a metal louse and nit comb and an electronic louse comb. The electronic one runs about $35, but you use it everyday and it electrocutes the lice. You do it everyday for 2 weeks (on dry hair) after using the lice shampoo. It got rid of the lice for good with us! The instructions also said to wash hair daily to help wash out the dead lice that the combs may have missed.

We washed with the lice treatment at night before bed, did the metal comb after, in the morning did the electronic comb, and washed the hair that night with regular shampoo, ran the metal lice comb again...repeated the electric comb, shampoo, and metal comb routine every day for 2 weeks.

  12. Im sorry you have to go through this! I would put loads of mayonnaise in your hair (it might feel a little uncomfortable at first but its actualy quite relaxing) before you go to bed. The next it will possibly be nit free.

P.S IT HELPS THE NITS AND YOUR HAIR

  13. Get yourself a nit comb. A metal one, the plastic ones are useless. Then wash your hair and put conditioner in it, and go right through your hair slowly with the comb (or, even better, get your mum to do it for you) every day this weekend and keep doing it every day until at least ten days after you stop finding them.

The stuff really doesn't work by itself, most lice are resistant to it - and I've never found one which kills the eggs even though they all say they do.

Everyone gets nits. The people who say they would never have them and tease you are most likely the people who gave them to you in the first place.
