Every Memorial Day for the last 17 years my Mom and Dad and Family go to where my Mom and Dad will be buried and this year we was in shock to see another couple has been buried there, we called the person in charge and he said they was sorry that the other couple was suppose to be one row over. Has anyone ever had this happen and if so what do you do or what can be done? My Mom is 80 and my Dad 79.

  1. If your parents have the paperwork for the plots, the other couple should be moved.

  2. Oh man, that's sticky. I'm guessing you're talking about the US since you reference Memorial Day. You need to talk to an attorney. They'll probably ended up giving your mom and dad different graves because digging up someone else and reburying them is a very difficult process and would be horribly traumatic to their family. I can completely understand your astonishment, but someone has to also weigh in the feelings of both families. An attorney can be the impartial person who knows the ins and outs of this to negotiate a good solution. It is full of emotion and my heart goes out to everyone involved.
