They dont make an optima battery for my car. I want to run a second amp for my speakers. What should i do?

Ya what should i do i have a 2005 hyundai elantra and I have a 300 watt inifnity amp for my subs and i want to get an amp for my speakers. I was told that i nedd like a red top battery or a yellow top but they dont make that for my car. is there anything else i could do?

I could be wrong, but i think you wanna be more concerned with a high output alternator if youre going to run serious wattage..and quality cables.  the battery, as long as its decent, shouldnt matter...

theres always Interstate, they make good batteries.  

i have been out of the car audio game a long time, but i would think these principles still stand true.  more juice required=bigger alternator....quality cables=efficiency...

i believe that a 300W sub amp is not that large, what are you looking to run for your mids and highs....i would guess a quality 4 channel amp of your choice...

The vast majority of after-market audio systems, if their primary function is for listening to music, won't cause problems for stock electrical systems.  It doesn't sound like your total system power will be more than 500-600 watts.  You shouldn't need any special battery.

that is a small setup, even with an amp on the inside speakers you are far from needing to upgrade your battery

plus red and yellow top batteries are different from each other-- someone did not know what they were talking about

That's a lie. what your going to need is a distribution block like below and

you may want to buy a capacitor you don't need a second battery. The capacitor Stores extra power so when you have a high amount of drain on your battery from your amplifiers it will help so it doesn't make your lights go dim or flicker when the bass hits. The distribution block makes it so you can run a second power wire from your original so you can power two amps.
