Question:

They keep postponing my divorce?

I am getting a divorce in Indiana and they keep postponing the court date for the provisional hearing. I am wondering if the lawyers do this on purpose or is the court system just that backed up. I want to see my daughter but the legal system is slowing things down.

  1. My opinion is that they do it on purpose.  The longer the process takes the more the lawyers can put oppositional ideas in their clients heads and make more money.

Do an on-line search for "divorce care".  No matter what the circumstances divorce is a challenging process to go through and we all could use support.

I pray that things work out for the best interest of your daughter and you.

  2. That sucks!

  3. omg what BS.

    Couple of things

Did you or your spouse file?

If your spouse filed, your attorney should counterfile so you can push your dates yourself and not be at the mercy of them.

You might think about a new lawyer, its unacceptable to not be allowed to see your child

  4. Consult with a new lawyer and see if this is the normal trend for divorces in your state. You should also have the filing number for your divorce, contact the county clerk directly and see where your divorce stands and see who or what is holding up your case.

  5. I'd be raising h**l with those attorneys. And would keep doing it too until the day my divorce is final.
