They say not to over train when doing weight's but....!! 10 points best answer.?

if i do weights 3 times a week say

moday chest tri-ceps

Wednesday shoulders legs

friday back bi-ceps

when i do my chest triceps on monday and then not do them again isnt that giving them like 6 days rest and the same with the other days?

they say to give them like 2 days rest but most people say do weights 3 times a week but thats alot more than 2 days...

can someone plz explain to me if i only do my chest and triceps on monday and they same with the other days how it will work with like 6 days rest before i do them again..

  1. you ca do as many push ups curl ups etc, but don,t do to much weight if you cant handle it because u don't want to strain a muscle


  2. It sounds like your trying to save up for winter...and it doesn't really work that way.

    You should split it up with a day of rest between workouts.  Weight train Mon-Wed-Fri.  Then do Cardio Tue-Thur...and rest on weekends.  

    If you work your butt off, but then rest for 6 days all your effort will go down the toilet.  :(

  3. 6 days is too much rest. When I trained competitively, we worked the upper body Mon. Wed. & Fri. On Tues, Thu & Sat the lower body. You do nothing on Sun. Also, you can skip the Sat. lower body work out. Every 2 mo. we took a week or 2 off.
