They say not to stress about it...?

I'm TTC and they say not to "stress" about it or put too much planning into it.

My life, and generally I am NOT stressed, I'm pretty stress-free at this point actually.

But I do think about TTC a LOT, and I carefully try to pinpoint ovulation and such every month. I don't chart, I don't use OPKS..

but never the less,

all I think about is how nice it would be to get pregnant.

I'm not stressed generally,

and I only get "stressed" about TTC when my period comes.

So I don't know.

HAS ANYONE EVER GOTTEN PREGNANT EVEN THOUGH YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT ALL MONTH LONG?

They say it will only happen once you give up.

True?

  1. Stress can delay ovulation, not your period. The day your period is going to come is determined by the day you ovulate. If you ovulate late due to stress, etc, then in turn your period will be late. Ovulation determines the length of your cycle. As stress can delay ovulation, stress will not stop conception once ovulation has occurred. Once you have ovulated, it is out of your hands, and stress will not prevent conception from happening. Think about it, all the unplanned pregnancies, and accidents, those women stress constantly about not wanting to be pregnant and so forth, but once they have ovulated, it is out of their hands if they get pregnant or not.

Good luck to you, and sending lots of baby dust your way!!!

  2. With my first two pregnancies --- we weren't "trying" as my hubby likes to put it.... we just quit preventing and let nature take it's course.  So I wasn't thinking about it at all, other than remembering to take my vitamin every morning.  Well the first pregnancy took 6mos to conceive and the second one took 10mos to conceive and I wasn't doing ANYTHING to make it happen......I just had to come to the realization that it's just not something that comes easy to me.  I miscarried the second pregnancy in March and have been VERY actively TTC again.  using opk's, charting BBT and now I know WAY more about TTC than I ever thought I wanted to know.  Sometimes I think ignorance is bliss!!!

  3. Hi. I am in the same boat as you, but it is so hard to not think about it. I am in this mind frame that when you are passionate about something and think happy thoughts about that thing- it will happen-

I as well dont chart or temp or use the opk's but as you too I think about this allllll day every day and happily wish for my bfp.

I think it is a very straigt forward answer to your question, and I do think alot of people think about becoming pregnant and get their special joy.

I just had this talk with a very well educated friend last week and she and I were in this discussion of how negitive the whole talk of not thinking about something is, and how it is crazy not to think of all the wonders that a pregnancy and a baby and a child and a family and a eternal love will do. It is not just the wanting of the pregnancy it is the whole love and life after too that is so enjoyable.

I like you am a freak with this ttc. And I am having the best time of my life ttc, and I hope to always remember having the best time of my life ttc, and i hope many other women out there have the same feelings, and never let anyone take this one time in your life away!!!

GOOOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU GET PREGNANT SOON! IF NOT ENJOY AND HAVE FUN!!!!

  4. No.  They say stress can have an affect on your hormones, but if something is medically wrong, then no amount of relaxation is going to help until you have medical intervention.

I was extremely depressed, cried all the time.  It took over a year for baby #2, and he was not supportive in the least, but that's another story completely.

  5. They say that to people with fertility problems.  That sometimes once you give up it happens.  It doesn't mean that you can't get pregnant if you try.

  6. dont stress about it girl. God will take care of everything.

  7. I suggest finding a TTC forum!  I have been a member of FertilityFriend.com for several years and I LOVE IT.  I am still posting there every day even though my son is coming up on two!

Anyway - to answer your real question I do not think that "relaxing" about it will make you pregnant.  It is a stressful time!  Once you want a baby, you don't think it will be so much work to make it happen!

Best of luck to you and I do hope you check out a message board for TTC, they are great.

  8. It will happen or not whether you think about it or not. While you are thinking about it you may also want to think about taking a high quality prenatal vitamin and mineral to help boost your fertility. Glad to hear you are taking it easy and not stressing about it. The three top things you can do to increase your fertility is to increase your nutrition, increase your exercise and decrease your stress. There is also a spiritual component to fertility and conception and you seem to have this part well in hand. Have fun! Best wishes, G
