They will not let me and my wife adopt because of my record. What Can i do??

Hello, the adoption society have rejected me an my wife because of a few things i have done against the law. As me and my wife are unable to have kids we are not able to do anything. The incidents happened over 10 yrs ago and they were for - Perjury, Embezzlement, conspiring to pervert the course of justice, And attempting to bribe the mayor of Lambeth. Is there anyway, as i am a changed person able to have kids in my home?? Please help. Thanks

look into foster care.  this way you can help kids and have them.  the social workers would be able to better determine if you have changed.

Learn to accept and live with it as well as be grateful that there are laws and regulations to protect children.  Volunteer at a local boys/girls club to fill the void your suffering from.

You can enjoy your childless life.  Or volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, or some other similar place.  Get a job working with children (if they'll give you one with that record).  Being childless isn't all that bad.

they  unfortunatly wont do anything, why not try to get a surgate mum.i do feel sory for hyou the past should stay in the past if havnt already whhy not try ivf.im a christian and if you want i will pray for u so you will get a child either a suragat  mum or ur own let me know,add me as contact n den ill know.ull have a baby in 2 yr

sad that the authorities actually advertise for foster parents yet we know of sound families being put through h**l in 'tests'

its all c**p - yes there should be some criteria obviously- but if people have enough love to want to adopt I think they should be given the benifit of the doubt

Well, I am glad you are a changed person but those are some pretty big offenses.  My sisters husband was able to adopt, he had a kidnapping charge...it was a high school prank to high school kid when he was in high school but over the age of 18.  I believe he was told "no" then he fought it and won.  Try to fight it.  I wish you luck

The foster parent route is great advice I didn't even think of that which is funny because I fostered and got to adopt a beautiful baby girl.  Its a very rewarding route to take  They will look at you as someone that can help kids even though you have a past.  That's is still a maybe because your record is kind of big, sorry.

What country do you live in? I believe here in the United States, you could have your wife artificially inseminated. This would allow her to be pregnant and her to carry the child, thus making it hers and by default... yours.

If the problem is that your wife can not conceive, maybe you could arrange for a surrogate mother to carry the child using your seaman. Costly- yes, worth it- yes.

Chances are, since they already have the reports, there is no way.  If you are truly changed, and can prove to the courts that you are, there is a chance that you can get the record expunged by a pardon from the govenor's office.  In this case, you could ask for a correction to the criminal report, where it would no longer show the charges, IF they are pardoned.  Chances are though, it won't happen.

Foster instead.  They don't mind a criminal record for fostering, so long as it isn't for a crime committed against children.

NOT UNLESS YOU HAVE A PRIVATE ADOPTION WHERE THE PARENT IS WILLING TO SIGN HIS OR HER RIGHTS AWAY AND GIVE YOU FULL CUSTODY.  YOU CAN ALSO TRY HAVING YOUR RECORD EX SPONGED, ALL THOUGH IN SOME STATES THEY DON'T ALLOW EX SPONGEDMENT

I'm NOT judging you but you have to see where they are coming from, why not get some legal advice on this think that's your best way froward.

If you really want to have kids in your home the  frist step is to clear your name from 10 years ago and admit to whatever it was they think it was and if u feel like filing bankupty becuz of what you owe them then go for it ... But also good luck....

my friend had a similar problem, so she fostered 2 little girls for 2 years, then the girls mum said she did not want them anymore and to cut a long story short - ended up adopting them! they have now lived with them for nearly 5 years !

Sorry for you and your wife. I know someone in a similar situation and now they've lived to regret their past antics.

Having said that there is always hope through the other avenues like medical or fostering.

i can tell your obviously  talking in England,so i don't know who has given you that information,as away with the fairy's,is absolutely correct,i don't get into trouble now,but i do have a long criminal record,i was checked as everyone has to be,and i know for a fact,if i got passed to have 4 children placed into my care,with my record,there is something wrong why you cant,like you say,what happened to rehabilitation and all that,the only reason you cant have access to children is if your classed as a danger to them,so you want to go to the citizens advice or speak to a solicitor,whatever happens i wish yous well,peAce.
