A nightclub owner in Jersey has said sorry after women were turned away from his venue for being "too fat".

___

  1. It is not fair but a club owner or bar owner has the right to refuse any customer for any reason.  The owner makes the rules. But people are different sizes so, if you boycot the club I bet he will change his mind. When he sees no customers he will allow any thing. Try it but do it nicely. You can go to  New Jersey's licensing boad and see what they say is the laws in that state. If he is allowed to do that and report it to the board.

  2. Sue...orama!

What on earth were they thinking! They haven't just offended bigger girls but their slimmer friends and their families by upsetting people they care about.Extremely shallow and not a smart business move!

  3. I don't like to do it to fat women, that's probably also the reason why they were turned away at the night club, nobody likes to do it to fat women.

  4. It is difficult to turn away fatty women every time they turn up at the club. Further they are a sight to see. So the club owner feels he need not turn them away. If it is fatty guy, it is a different story altogether. No body wants a fatty man. Hence, no sympathy for them.

  5. this club is not worth bothering about the superficial idiots these people who have prejudices about fat women do not know what they are missing they do not know how wonderfull we are business people take note open a club for fat women and the men who like us in jersey you would make good money not every man like the boney brigade

  6. Well they have stopped people smoking so I suppose that this is the next thing. Next thing, No booze only soft drinks.

  7. Thats outrageous - and I never realised men are turned away from clubs? Does that really happen?

  8. Probably a health and safety issue...in the event of a fire the fatties would block the exit....

  9. I was asked to leave a pub the other night because I was only drinking water. Go figure!

  10. Ellis, nearly choked on my coffee after reading that, thanks!!! lol.

why did the eejits tell them it was because of their weight? why not just make an excuse up and not cause all this trouble.

  11. All the locals get together and boycott the nightclub until it changes its policy or it closes down.

Then they will know that anybody is a customer, especially in these economically hard times.

    What a nerve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. It's time for a fat tax.

  13. Yeah, but the flour makes a big mess.

  14. Its up to the owners who they choose to admit or not admit.  There are plenty of clubs in London that refuse people who are not their target clientelle.

Discrimination is perfectly normal in clubs.  They chose % of men vs girls, age, affluence, poshness, etc, why not weight?

Me and my friends were refused entry to a club by a doorman who told us the club was far too rough and low life for us.  I think he did us a favour personally.

  15. This door policy is right.

If a fat bird wants to get pissed on alcopops and act like child ( they all do) i suggest they go to Reflex or Chicago Rock.

  16. I  didnt realize they were doing it to guys.. but thats wrong.. isnt that discrimination anyways.

  17. Fat dance and beer make for very stinky people.......good choice to ban them.....
