The Italy international midfielder reflected on the importance of a winning mentality for a team competing at the highest level, and about being responsible.

“It is normal to be concerned after three losses, although they were all friendlies. That is not normal for a side like ours. But it is important how we react.”

When questioned about Balotelli and his antics, Motta cheekily replied:
“Balotelli still makes us angry. He’s a good lad, but he has to feel the responsibility of someone who defends his country in an important tournament.”
Italy will be up against Spain in their first match of the Group C tie on the 10th of June.
