The PSG midfielder has stated that the tactical prowess alone cannot guarantee them a win over the current European Champions; they need to find strength from inside.
The Italy international was giving an interview in the city of Krakow where he looked forward to the Azzurri's game against Spain, and gave his opinion on the match. With talks of an imminent shift in Cesare Prandelli’s strategies
following his injury concerns, there have been suggestions that the head coach might opt for a three-man defence, which was successfully adopted by the likes of Juventus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Udinese in the Serie A.
Despite success achieved by those teams during the course of the season, Motta has come fourth and stated that formations and tactics do not do much to the outcome of the match, if it is not followed by the desire and hunger to
succeed. He said after the coaching staff does their hard work, the onus lies on the players to execute the plan and add their own dimension to the game, and mentioned:
“It doesn’t matter whether you play two, three or four defenders. It is desire which makes the difference. The Coach will pick the team, but what is important are the players.”
Italy have not been the only team in the Euro 2012 to be affected by the loss of key players, even their opponents of 10th June have a few key concerns of themselves.
Their highly prolific goal-scorer, David Villa has been out through injury for some time now. Reflecting on his impact in the past two international tournaments for Spain, his killer instinct would be missed, especially given the
form http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has been in coming into the Euro 2012. Spain will also be without the services of Carles Puyol.
Motta reflected on their opponents and mentioned:
“If we can find unity then we can beat anyone. We know how Spain play, but stopping them from playing is not the same thing. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 are not a weaker team than in the past. They have won everything over the last four years. They
will be without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629, but they have good enough replacements.”
