The Nerazzurri boss has made it clear that the Brazilian-born Italian international will not be offloaded in January, insisting that they will assess the situation in summer.
Ranieri was recently talking to the media where he insisted that Motta will not be making a transfer move this month.
“I have no fear that he will leave. I’m convinced that the boy will stay here with us. The club have assured me that he will not move until June at the earliest.” He said.
Recent reports have linked the central midfielder with a move to the French outfit, and it is believed that they are looking to offer a fee close to eight million Euros.
Motta’s current deal at San Siro expires in June 2013, but Inter have not opened talks over a new contract as yet. The agent of the midfielder recently revealed that his client is keen to extend his stay at San Siro, but the former
Italian Champions have put contract talks on hold until the end of the season.
Recent reports in the Italian media suggest that Inter are looking to seal the signing of Porto midfielder, Fredy Guarin, before allowing Motta to leave for Paris. Guarin has reportedly undergone a medical at San Siro, and his
signing will be confirmed in the next 24 hours.
The Colombian international was initially linked with Juventus, but the Turin giants used their last non-EU spot by signing Martin Caceres from Sevilla. The Nerazzurri are expected to land the versatile midfielder on an initial
loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.
Guarin had a fantastic 2010/11 season with the Portuguese Champions, and played a huge role in helping them winning the treble last season.
