Thiago Pereira wins Men’s 400m IM crown: Santa Clara International Invitational 2011, California
Thiago Pereira of Trojan won the Men’s 400m Individual Medley crown with a winning time of 4 minutes and 15.89 seconds and moved into 5th spot of the world rankings at the Santa Clara International Invitational 2011. Placed second in the 400m
IM was Ryan Lochte of Daytona Beach with a time of 4 minutes and 17.76 seconds, while Chase Kalisz of NBAC wound up third in 4 minutes and 19.15 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m freestyle, Tae Hwan Park of South Korea won the respective meet in 1 minute and 45.92 seconds and jumped into 4th spot in the world rankings. Ryan Napoleon of Australia earned second position in 1 minute and 48.71 seconds and
Dominik Meichtry of Trojan finished third in a time of 1 minute and 48.72 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m back-stroke race, Michael Phelps of NBAC captured first spot with a record time of 1 minute and 57.05 seconds and improved to 5th place in the world rankings. Meanwhile, Mitchell Larkin of Australia snared second spot in 2 minutes
and 00.30 seconds and Matt Swanston wound up third after he touched the finishing blockade in a time of 2 minutes and 00.54 seconds.
Afterwards, Madison Kennedy captured the Women's 50m freestyle race with a winning time of 25.23 seconds, while Lara Jackson of Tucson Ford wound up second in 25.27 seconds. Amanda Weir of SwimAtlanta settled third in a time of 25.50 seconds.
Claiming the Men’s 50m freestyle event was California’s swimmer, William Copeland with a victorious time of 22.69 seconds, while Alex Coville of Stanford settled second in 22.81 seconds. Josh Schneider of SwimMAC snared third spot in a time of 22.92 seconds.
In the final Women’s 50m breast-stroke race, Jessica Hardy of Trojan captured the first spot after ending her swim with a triumphant time of 30.43 seconds.
Additionally, Olympic champion, Brendan Hansen of United States of America won the Men’s 50m breast-stroke race with a sterling time of 28.65 seconds and moved into the top spot in the world rankings.
