The AC Milan defender is of the view that there is an inherent need for the use of technology these days, given what conspired in the match against Juventus.
The match against AC Milan and Juventus was not short of controversies, as cries of unfair treatment were made from both sides.
However, Sulley Muntari’s disallowed goal at the San Siro has created havoc in the media, with countless Milanese representatives bemoaning the decision.
Despite having the pressure of it being a Milan-Juve clash, what added to its greater significance was the fact that the sides were battling it out for the Scudetto, with the result holding great significance
to both the sides. Juventus and Milan have been embroiled in a title see-saw all season long.
The match ended with both sides scoring a goal apiece, however, the Diavolo should have had the Muntari effort considered as a goal after it became clear from the TV replays that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833 collected
the ball from behind the goal-line.
The Rossoneri defender spoke of his disappointment at the decision, stating that he could see it from the half-way line, and yet the linesman could not see it.
He was being interviewed by Sky Sport Italia, in which he said:
“I’m disappointed with what happened against Juventus. I’m stunned by the mistake of the linesman. I saw the ball go in from where I was in the middle of the pitch and he was in a position where he could
see everything…”
The defender stated that he is in favour of using technology in football, and his predicament can be seen by the impact such decisions have on the outcome of the match.
He remarked:
“I’m in favour of the use of TV replays or officials behind the goals – we have to have them in the big matches.”
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 has not been critical of Gigi Buffon’s comments, in which the goalkeeper stated that he would not have informed the referee even if knew the goal stood. He stated:
“Had I been him, I would have done the same.”
Exactly how big a difference this decision makes can only be witnessed in the course of the season.
