A.C Milan defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903, has revealed that he was extremely nervous before heading for the equalizer against Barcelona.
Silva’s stoppage time header from Clarence Seedorf’s corner kick helped Milan to snatch a 2-2 draw against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. The Brazilian is extremely happy with his goal and also the result
of the game.
The former Porto star revealed that he had practiced it a lot during the training sessions and it will go down as one of the best headed goals in his career. The defender has urged his team-mates not to get carried away with the
result as they have another big game lined-up at the weekend. The Rossoneri will travel to the Stadio San Paolo on September 18th, 2011 to take on Walter Mazzarri’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
Silva said, “I was a bit nervous, certainly. We worked hard on this in training, so in the end found an important goal. Now we have to keep this level of calm, as on Sunday we face another great squad like Napoli.”
The Brazilian has urged his team-mates to remain grounded and focused for the second-leg game at the San Siro. The 26-year-old added that Milan should learn from their mistakes from the game because they made some childish errors
throughout the match.
“We didn’t only hope to win here, but also at San Siro. It’s important to keep calm and we know that we made a lot of mistakes today, especially when defending, but the two goals were crucial.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fluminense-c39366 star believes that Champions League is always difficult than playing in the Serie A and is hoping that his team will improve as the competition goes on.
“It is always difficult to play in the Champions League, but we have just started and hope to slowly improve. It’s the most important competition for a player.”
The defender wants his team to make amends for their poor form from the previous seasons. Milan have not gone beyond the last 16 round in the previous three seasons and Silva is confident that the team will perform much better
this season.
