http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918 back at Arsenal to stay fit
Thierry Henry, an absolute legend at Arsenal, has once again come back to his former club. But this time, it is not to play for them but to avail their services to stay in shape during the off season of Major League Soccer in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390.
Henry still remains a crowd favourite at Arsenal with a record 262 goals for the club, and multiple Premier League titles. He played for Arsenal from 1999 to 2007 and appeared in 370 games for the Gunners. The 33 year old left Arsenal in 2007 in search of
trophies and joined Barcelona, but his move did not work out the way he had imagined. When he was at Arsenal, he was the centre of attention and Arsene Wenger used to put out a team which was based around him. When he went to Barcelona, he was just a face
in the crowd. Barcelona, at the time, had the world’s leading footballer, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldinho-c31733, and one of the most influential strikers, Eto’o at the club. Henry did not get enough chances up front and was not able to make himself a regular in the first team. He did
manage to win the elusive UEFA Champions’ League with the Catalan Giants, but probably not the way he would have ideally wanted to, as he did not play much of a part in the campaign. When the new manager, Pep Guardiola, took over after Frank Raijkard, he made
it clear that Henry was not in his long term plans, and the Frenchman finally decided to part ways with the club at the end of last season.
Henry followed David Beckham’s lead, who joined the MLS club, LA Galaxy after leaving Real Madrid, and went to the New York Red Bulls in the United States.
Henry, alongside his French compatriot, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316, was instrumental in the golden days of Arsenal. During the eight years he spent with the Gunners, he managed to win two premier league titles and two FA Cups. But the European cup eluded him, which
eventually proved to be the reason he left his beloved club.
A statement on the webpage of Arsenal read, "Thierry Henry is back at Arsenal. The short-term arrangement will help Henry maintain his fitness for the new MLS campaign, which begins in March”.
The first season for Henry in the United States did not end with silverware, but he did have a decent outing and helped his team get to the play offs.
Reports coming from Arsenal suggest that Henry would also work in the capacity of assistant coach and would use his vast experience to enhance the skills of young Arsenal strikers.
Arsene Wenger, the current manager of Arsenal, played a big part in harnessing the career of Thierry Henry. It was Wenger who signed Henry from the Italian club, Juventus, in 1999. At the time, he was an attacking midfielder, but Wenger thought that his
abilities would be best utilised up front. Wenger played him as a striker and, in no time, Henry started to blossom as an outstanding striker, and became one of the most important, if not the most important, player in the team.
