Arsenal legend and current New York Red Bulls striker, Thierry Henry has gone on to insist that the only reason the North London club celebrated as hard as they did at the end of the season, was because they finished above Tottenham
Hotspur.
A number of critics went on to lash out at Arsenal because of the way they celebrated once the Premier League season came to an end. Most believed that the team was celebrating another fourth place finish. However, Henry has insisted
that the only reason the team celebrated was because they denied their arch rivals an opportunity to finish in the top four.
Henry is reported to have said,  "But I can tell you I think it was more the fact that for any Arsenal player, when you really feel the shirt and really play for the club, putting Tottenham out of the top four, and I really do
hope that’s what they were celebrating about.”
"Because that is the only thing you can celebrate about. If you are an Arsenal man through-and-through that is like winning something for me.”

"And I also said it when we did it to them in 2006 that it wasn't the fact we qualified for the Champions League, it is because we kicked them out of it and we went in."
What made the finish for the Gunners even more impressive, was the fact that they lost to Tottenham in the league this season and were actually trailing them by a massive seven-point deficit at one time.
With the team turning around such a massive deficit and climbing up the rankings to secure Champions League football once again, it is easily understandable as to just why the team was so happy with their finish to the season.
Nonetheless, even Henry would agree that it is now time for the club to stop celebrating such events, and for them to move on and push to win silverware in the coming season.
