Thin 6mm long whitish grey worms on the kitchen sink. How? Why?

I found very thin and about 6mm long whitish clear/greyish worms in my kitchen under the dish draining tray on the sink. They had a black dot on each end and were wriggling. There were lots of them wriggling in the water. What are they and how did they get there? They were not anywhere else but there.
