The Dallas Mavericks are the current title holders of National Basketball Association (NBA). They defeated the Miami Heat in 2010-2011 NBA finals and won the Larry O’ Brien trophy in style. The Mavericks’ entire side played with
full energy and dominated every opponent in the competition.

Currently the league is locked over a labour dispute between the players and its union. No one knows as how long this lockout will prevail in the league and when will the next season start. But if this lockout is lifted from the
players, the next season will start on time and the Dallas Mavericks would try their best to retain the NBA title. A few things, the Mavs should do to retain their title are as under;
Significance of Tyson Chandler:
After winning the 2010-2011 NBA title with the Dallas Mavericks, centre Tyson Chandler becomes a free agent this offseason. His significance for the Mavericks is still huge and the Mavericks have to re-sign him for its own good.
Chandler was one of the key players last season who led the Mavericks’ to the victory stand with his individual brilliant performance.
After coming into the Dallas Mavericks in July, 2010, Chandler started his brilliant run of continues performances. He was traded from Charlotte Bobcats where he had spent only one season. Chandler and his tremendous basketball
skills were soon recognised in the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks gave him more confidence which eventually proved wonderful for his own game and for his new team.
From start of the 2010-2011 regular season, Chandler started with huge energy and averaged 10.1 points, and 9.4 rebounds per game in the regular season. He played total 74 regular season’s games and helped the Mavericks to qualify
for the playoffs.
Chandler continued his great performance even in the post season and averaged 8.0 and 9.20 rebounds per game. Chandler along with Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry developed a great chemistry and proved lethal against every opponent.
Chandler’s over ten years’ NBA experience helped the Mavericks in the eventual stages of the competition.
He never lost confidence and kept pushing his other teammates to reach the glory and finally grabbed the title on June 12th. Tyson Chandler, who is currently playing in China, is very essential for the Dallas Mavericks
if they want to repeat the same kind of performance which led them to precious NBA title.
