Things Miami Heat need to do to secure the NBA title next season: NBA Featured (Part-1)
The moment Miami Heat included LeBron James and Chris Bosh to accompany Dwyane Wade before the beginning of the 2010-2011 season, the prospect of Heat wining the NBA title in the last season looked like a reality. The superstar
trio lived up to the expectations throughout the season and raced away into the NBA Finals. However, they were gunned down by the veteran Dallas Mavericks in the finals and the heartbreak left a lot of questions to be answered.
Learn From their Mistakes
Even though Miami Heat did prove themselves as a formidable force against the Eastern and Western Conference elites, throughout the regular season, however, facing Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals was the ultimate challenge for
the team.
The biggest mistake Miami made against the Mavericks was that they continued their strategy of firing on all cylinders right from the beginning and not to save their best for the last. This was where the experience in the Dallas
ranks came to the fore. They saved their energy for the last and forced incredible meltdowns on Miami Heat in all of the four wins to nab their first ever NBA Title.
Despite of getting hampered down the stretch every time, Miami seemed to do nothing about it and the chance of clinching the Larry O’Brien Trophy slipped out of their hands.
Miami Heat needs to learn from their mistakes and should come up with new strategies every time especially at the big platform. Although they fell at the final hurdle this time, in all probabilities, they are still the team to
beat and the favourites for the next season. All they have to do is to avoid repeating their mistakes.
It’s Time for Erik Spoelstra to mature as a coach
Head coaching is not just about helping players in the team to develop their basketball skills. In reality, the coaches are put to test when they have to make quick decisions during the game to help their team get out of adversity.
Even though, Erik Spoelstra was influential in leading the Heat into the NBA Finals, the experience and his knowledge of basketball came up short when he had to form some quick strategies against Dallas Mavericks and the ingenuity
of Rick Carlisle. Despite of continues fourth quarters meltdown in the NBA Finals, Spoelstra failed to chalk out a strategy for his superstar team.
Still Erik Spoelstra is a great coach, he proved it be gelling two of three best players in the league in such a short time. The only thing he needs to learn is to take decisions on the spot.
