a child's fingers are not scalded by a pieace of hot yam which its mother puts into its palm....

  1. Basically, it is not the child's fault if the mother tells the child to do something bad.

    This is the master / slave social society psychological reason. (I'm not sure what it's really called)  If you get a high enough person of authority to tell you to do something, you will do it without conscience.

    The psychology experiment is "Would you electrocute a stranger?"

    However, it has been shown it IS the doers fault by American standards, and not the person of authority.


  2. Ive read this for school, its a good book. it may mean that the lessons we learn or the displine we recieve from our mothers will not hurt us but helps us in the future.

  3. A mother would not put a piece of anything hot enough to burn her baby. That is why they are not scalded, a mothers protection.
